SHOW YOUR CARD
It has been reported that a few members have refused to show their membership cards upon entering the Post, and also at the bar when ordering drinks. It is virtually impossible for our volunteers to know all the members by sight. It is a state law and a Club Committee rule that a member must show his or her card when asked. We must follow this rule to protect our liquor license. You are most welcome at your Post and we are happy that you come in, and happy to serve you. Please understand our position. Please do not be abusive to those trying to serve you, as they must comply to the state law and the rules of the Club Committee. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Thank you. We hope that all our members will come and support our functions and events.

WELCOME HOME GREETINGS FOR THE 123rd Through the VFW MAP program we were able to adopt a unit. Adopting a unit just means what it states. After we adopt a unit - it's up to us (our Post) to keep in contact with them - making sure if we can help in any way we're there. We adopted the 123rd MAPD out of the armory on 52nd street. We have been working with them and FRG for a while now, supplying them with special items they have needed. It was our honor to have held a special dinner for this unit to help show our support and how proud we are of our UNIT and all the troops serving today when it deployed last year. Sending care packages throughout the last year and helping families at home while their loved ones were deployed. But i was a greater honor to welcome all of them home this last month (August 16th). For everyone who helped with this welcoming, thank you very much. It may have only been a handful but they will always remember their welcome home. Again for all who organized and went and welcome them home, you did your Post proud, showed support for our troops and one giant thank you. Hopefully, more of our members will get involved as time goes on and learn more about MAP. |
| Did you know that one person
with the help of the ACLU is trying to get one of the oldest Veterans
Memorial in America taken down. It just happens to be way out in the
desert, miles from to one and miles from any cities, or people etc.
Out in the Mojave Desert there's a cross which was put up after WWI, put
up by veterans who served - to honor their fellow buddies which
never returned. The Supreme court is going to make a decision on
this in October, if it should be left standing or taken down just because
it's a cross on government land. Check out the video. What's
your option - get involved - now!!! www.donttearmedown.com |
